The Friends of the Jock River will be holding their
The Friends of the Jock River is currently looking for energetic and conservation minded people to assume positions on its Board of Directors.
The FJR is a charitable not-for-profit organization established in 1996 to provide leadership in improving the health of the Jock River watershed ecosystems. The FJR Executive plans and directs projects and actions, outreach and initiatives to achieve these goals. The current board has been in place for some time and believes it is time to pass the torch on for a fresh start for the new year, though some have agreed to stay on in a advisory capacity.
The FJR Nominating Committee is currently looking for candidates who are familiar with the Jock River watershed and environmental issues such as water quality, quantity, fisheries, riparian habitat restoration. or experience in finances, project management, and human resources.
Time commitment is anywhere between 5 to 20 hours per month, depending on current levels of activity. The board meets once a month on a weeknight, All available positions are elected for a minimum term of one year and may be re-elected.
Interested candidates are invited to submit their resumes online before Feb. 28th .
